The brown crab or edible crab, is characterized by a carapace that is wider than it is long, with a brown-orange color.

It has five pairs of legs, two of which are powerful and tipped with black.

It lives on rocky or sandy seabeds up to 200 meters deep.

Its delicate and tasty flesh, found in the claws, legs, and body, is highly appreciated by consumers.
